Раскрывая тему поэзии Басё, автор приводит свои интерпретации японских трёхстиший, выполненные в форме поэтического перевода. В книге сделана попытка объяснить истинный смысл произведений Басё на основе анализа комментариев поэта к своим стихам, а также документальных источников и фактов биографии мастера японской поэзии.

«Аритмия» переводится с греческого как «несогласованность». Такова и структура фильма: он будто бы небрежно сложен из случайных кусочков сюжета.

Эта история кажется очень простой, ее героиня – понятной, антагонисты – ожидаемо плохими. Проблема в том, что режиссер нас обманул.
